At Dryroofs we’ve put together just a few questions that we have been frequently asked over the years, hopefully you can make use of them as well, if you have any questions that you would like us to answer don’t hesitate to contact us or fill in our request a quote page asking anything you may need advice on.
I am looking to change my facia boards but not sure if I want pvc or wood?
Most houses now are using pvc as they are maintenance free and come in different colours, my tip is to watch out for company’s that just cap over the old rotten wood as you are just masking a problem also make sure they are not capping over any vents as this can cause problems.
My chimney leaks and I have had a number of repairs to it can you remove it?
Yes of course if you have a disused chimney and your sick of having it repaired (I would firstly obviously question the standard of the repairs), but to remove the chimney is not as major as it might sound.
I’ve recently purchased a property, there are no noticeable leaks but the roof looks old, will you charge me to look over my roof?
No a Dryroofs representative will visit your property they will carry out a thorough inspection to your roof and give you a detailed analysis of any problems or issues we find if any, this is still part of our quotation service so we charge no fee for this.
My roofing leak has damaged my ceiling can I get all the works done through Dryroofs or do I need to seek alternative trades myself?
At Dryroofs we always have to liaise with other trades so we have our very own vetted trades men that we bring in when needed as sometimes the client would like everything done under one job, so should you need plumbers / gas fitters / carpenters / plasters etc we will incorporate them or pass there details on to your self’s.
I’ve just been in my attic and noticed all my felt has water droplets on and every thing is damp does this mean my roof is failing and it needs replacing?
No one of the most important parts of all roofs is that it can breath otherwise this can cause condensation which can then lead to mould issues, the likely resolution is check all soffit vents if you have them are not blocked and your roof may need some extra ventilation ie. Tile vents fitted. A very quick and affordable fix to this problem.
We have excepted the quotation for you to undertake works on our property what do I need to do next?
Absolutely nothing, from the moment our quote is excepted we would like to think that you can now sit back, we will give you a start date then we will arrange all materials skip, scaffold any thing that is needed.
Do you want a tea or coffee?
The most popular question on a cold day for a roofer my answer would be yes of course but this is optional 🙂
